APPLICATION GUIDANCE

Maxyield for Maize

Sow directly. Place 10 kg/acre (about 25 kg/ha) near the seed row at planting without concentrating it against the seed. Blend with basal fertiliser, mature manure or compost for even placement; the maize protocol suggests 1 part Maxyield to 5 parts fertiliser. Apply a further 10 kg/acre during the normal top-dressing operation, preferably before rain or irrigation. Total: 20 kg/acre per crop.

Higher doses at very low pH require technical approval and a soil test; they are not included in this calculator.

KNOW YOUR SOIL

Soil pH & crop suitability

pH is a guide, not a yield prediction. These ranges need local soil-test interpretation; unlisted values are not automatically safe.

pH 6.0–6.5
Preferred range

Best pH conditions for this crop; no yield percentage is promised.

pH 5.5–5.9
Near the preferred range

Usually a lower pH risk; test nutrients and monitor the crop.

pH 5.0–5.4
Below the preferred range

Increasing risk of reduced growth or yield; investigate soil acidity and nutrition.

pH Below 5.0
Strongly outside the range

Higher risk of root or nutrient limitations; seek a soil-test-based correction plan.

pH Above 7.3
Above the preferred range

Check for nutrient limitations, particularly micronutrients.

Maxyield is a soil conditioner. It does not replace fertiliser or a soil-test-based liming programme. Nursery media rates are separate from field rates.

Supplied 26 September 2026

Rice application protocol

10 kg/acre at transplanting and 10 kg/acre at first top dressing during active growth / tillering. Nursery preparation and later side dressings for extended or ratoon crops are separate from this field estimate.

26 September 2026

Tomato application protocol

10 kg/acre at transplanting and first top dressing (35–45 days later). Long-season crops: separate repeat applications every 2–3 months where required. Nursery preparation is excluded from field estimates.

2 July 2026

Maize application protocol

Nursery preparation, planting and top dressing.

2 July 2026

Potato application protocol

Nursery preparation, planting and top dressing.

Updated version · supplied 26 September 2026

Broccoli application protocol

20 kg/acre at transplanting and 20 kg/acre at top dressing 6–8 weeks later: 40 kg/acre (100 kg/ha) per season. Nursery preparation is separate; no automatic pH-based increases.

26 July 2026

French bean application protocol

Standard programme: 80 kg/acre at planting and 80 kg/acre at top dressing. Optional nursery preparation is separate; low-pH adjustments require agronomic review.

Version 2 · supplied 26 September 2026

Sorghum application protocol

10 kg/ha at planting and 10 kg/ha at top dressing; 20 kg/ha per crop cycle. The calculator uses hectare-based rates from this version.

2 July 2026

Tea production protocol

Dated version covering nursery, new plantings, established fields and split applications.

27 June 2026

Cut roses · Credible Blooms

Farm-specific programme for 17.5 hectares. Its farm totals are not a general order recommendation.

3 July 2026

Eucalyptus seedlings · proposed trial

Proposed nursery trial for Brown Plantations. Experimental design remains to be completed; quantities are based on growing-media weight, not field area.
